A sore throat is inflammation or redness of the tissues, sometimes with yellowish or white secretion on the tonsils. It is a normal problem that each one of us faces in our life span. Sore throats are mainly caused by bacteria or viruses, affecting generally children and young adults. Sore throat can persist for more than 48 hours. Sore throats can also be caused by allergic reactions and tobacco smoke.

Home Remedies for Sore Throat:

1) Steep 1 teaspoon dried chamomile in 1 cup of hot water. Strain and let it cool to lukewarm and gargle as required.

2) Bishop's weed is valuable for sore throat cure. An infusion of the Bishop's weed seeds mixed with common salt can be used beneficially as a gargle in a sharp condition caused by a cold. This is good Home Remedy for Sore Throat.

3) Prepare the gargle of fenugreek seeds by putting two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in a litre of cold water and allowed this to simmer for half an hour over a low flame. This should then be allowed to cool to a supportable temperature, strained, and then used completely as a gargle.

4) Listerine mouthwash can be used as gargle. Pour a small amount of it into a cup for gargle.

5) Raspberry leaf tea can be used as gargle. Pour 1 cup boiling water over 2 teaspoons dried leaves and steep for 10 minutes then strain. Allow to cool. This gargle can also be used as a fever-reducing drink.

Home Remedies for Acne – How to Get Rid of Acne

Acne is an ailment that affects the skin's oil glands. The small holes in the skin (pores) link to oil glands under the skin. These glands make an oily matter called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a follicle and inside the follicles, oil holds dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. When the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, a pimple develops.

Mostly pimples are found on the face, neck, back and shoulders. Acne is not a severe health problem but, it can cause scars.

Acne is most ordinary in teenagers and young adults. Nearly 85 percent of people between the ages of 12 and 24 get acne pimples.

Home Remedies for Acne:


1) Prepare a paste out of fresh cucumber. Apply this paste as a mask and leave it on for half an hour then wash it off. This is one of the more pleasant home remedies for acne.

2) Apple cider vinegar: It acts as an astringent that assist in wash out the pores and removes excess oil, fights bacteria, and stable the skin's pH. It should be applied on the skin with a cotton ball or should be taken in the type of a steam.

3) Dried basil leaves along with boiling water must be applied on affected areas with a cotton ball.

4) Made Face wash with the help of boiling green beans and dried chamomile flowers. Use this face wash at least three times a day in order to fight acne.

5) Make a paste by mixing 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 3 tablespoons of honey and. apply this paste on the acne, pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with lukewarm water.

6) Mix turmeric powder with mint juice and apply on affected area. Leave for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. This is good Home remedy for Acne.

7) To cure acne apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face each night for 10-15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water

8) Mix the paste of tender neem leaves with turmeric and apply on the acne pimples.
