Home Remedies for Ringworm

Ringworm is an infection caused by a fungus that develops on the skin. Ringworm spreads from one person to another by contact. Ringworm isn't a worm but really a fungal infection caused by a collection of fungi called the dermatophytes.

Ringworm of the body is called tinea corporis, while ringworm of the genital areas is called tinea cruris (or sometimes 'jock itch'). Similarly ringworm of the scalp is known as tinea capitis. Ringworm can also affect the nails, causing them to become coagulate and discoloured, with scaling of the palms or soles. Ringworm of the skin generally causes a very itchy rash.

Ringworm can usually be recognized on the basis of its appearance. Ringworm is mainly common among children, but it can affect people of any age.

Home Remedies for Ringworm

1) Raw papaya can be used as home remedy for ringworm. The slices of raw papaya should be massaged on the ringworm patches. A paste made from dried papaya seeds can also be used by applying it on ringworm patches

2) One more fine home remedy for ringworm is mustard seeds. A paste should be prepared from these seeds and applied over the ringworm patches.

3) Herb butea seed are useful in ringworm. The paste made from these seeds should mixed with a little lime juice and must be applied externally over the skin affected by ringworm

4) Apply the juice extracted from the Holy basil leaves on the patch two times or thrice a day.

5) Cut open a green walnut and rub the juice on ringworm patches.

3) Regularly spreading apple cider vinegar in the regions prone to this infection. Your can put in some garlic to stop the itchy feeling; and water to dilute the vinegar concentration

4) Curds or yogurt is considered as one of the best home remedies for yeast infection. In fact, it is desirable to soak a tampon into curds and put it in the infected region for at least an hour. This could be continued twice to thrice a day.

5) Mixture of olive leaf extract with grapefruit seed extraction a glass of water is a good curative tonic for this disease.
